Last night was much warmer than I anticipated. Maybe I was overdressed again. I had expected howling wind and subarctic temperature, but instead it was balmy and calm fall weather. I still layered up like on Monday night. I didn’t need my jacket. This time I had my micro spikes on and I felt so good of crushing those ice and snows beneath my feet. I still waked though because icy snow piles were uneven to run on. Th temperature was warmer than Monday. I think it was +4C instead of -4. Might have been even warmer than that. (more…)

Tough week ahead
Look at the rest of the week and month, it seems a tough week is ahead. Weather for one but also scheduling conflict. It is hard to shift my ‘free day’ around. Last year my free days were Monday and Friday and this year I am trying to shift my rest day to Sunday and Wednesday to be inline with church events. It hasn’t worked out too well. (more…)

Snow
We have our first snow for 2019. It was a big one. I woke up and all outside was covered with 8-10 inches of white fluff and it forced local schools and the federal government to close at least for today. Not like I didn’t know ahead, since it was forecasted at the beginning of last week. By the way, I was too lazy to head to the mountains over the weekend. My family said they were glad. But the weatherman got it right this time. Imagine braving the element in the woods, what a weekend to tell about for years to come. (more…)

Review 19.2
Day 60 / Second Review – “December Update”
The last 30 days came and disappeared like a flash. I blogged another 30 days! The highlight was the 31 miles (50K) race completed. You can read all about it in the race report. Before the race I didn’t think I was prepared enough. I, at the time, had no idea how I could run another 5 miles on top of running a 26 miles. Then there were all kinds of panic at the last minute regarding the weather not being optimal on the race day. In the end these fears were moot. The race went well. I did finish, and that all it mattered.

Expectation
I would like to believe that I am somehow better than last year in term of having greater endurance after completed all those marathons. I can tough through anything. Anyhow these last few weeks after my marathon (wow almost a month now), I am feeling very lethargic and it brought me down a notch. I would like to think that I am just unmotivated or even lazy. And I would like to blame my body. I don’t know. Probably both. I made a lot of excuses on not running but probably my body isn’t ready yet to run. (more…)

Finally got outside
I finally got myself outside and ran. Not going to go in details about how my body reacted…and adjusted to running again. My right hip area still bothers me. It feels like something is wrong with the joint socket or one of the nerve/muscles is a bit off. I could locate that particular muscle with my finger but I was all at lost trying to look up a human anatomy diagram to figure out which one it was… I know I should go seek an expert/specialist. Somehow I am like one of those people who never seek a doctor unless it is time to roll over and die. Oh my goodness. I know.
Anyway, the run was great. (more…)

I never did [get to it]
I read a post from a very wise person. It reminded me if I want to do something, I got to do it immediately or else never. This weekend was basically a waste from a running stand point. I was going to run on Friday afternoon, that got push back to Friday night and that got push to Saturday and Sunday and now Monday. I am kind of disappointed in myself of things I didn’t do. (more…)
